From Shanghai to Anhui, we select the best cheongsams from the two places, so that the audience can feel the beauty of cheongsams and at the same time feel the blending and mutual learning of Shanghai style culture and Huizhou culture. The beauty of cheongsam lies not only in the objects, but also in the people who wear it. Seeing people from objects, seeing spirit and culture from people is the core expression of our exhibition.
With the support of brush-rubbing and watercolor painting techniques, the arduous process of awakening female subject consciousness is wrapped in a smart and beautiful cheongsam, engraved on pictorials and videos in the Republic of China period, and expands a magnificent era for the conflict and integration of Chinese and Western cultures. new horizons. Looking back at the “beauty” of cheongsam in the historical changes, in the new and old culture
Under the tide, women bravely pursue their own progress and liberation.
A group of outstanding women emerged in that era. They wore cheongsams and bravely went to the social stage. Their achievements in literature, art, film and television, etc., are just like the cheongsams they wear. And sharp. Among them, Pan Yuliang, a painter born in Anhui and popular in Shanghai, is a typical representative. Although the beauties have passed away, their beauty, wisdom and elegance will remain in people’s memory forever with each piece of cheongsam.
According to the relatively independent spatial structure characteristics of the exhibition hall, we divided the exhibition hall into three areas, showing the three spatial atmospheres of Shanghai-style retro, Hui-style elegance, and cheongsam life.
The overall space tone in Shanghai area is fashionable blue. In the center of the exhibition area, an independent space with “Indanthrene” which never fades in cheongsam dye as the background color is set up. In the flowing sound and color, the audience leaves emotional portraits. The interior design of the cabinet is mainly based on themed window display, with line drafts, three-dimensional shapes, and prop combinations to restore the street scenes of old Shanghai and the display windows of department stores. The development of Shanghai-style cheongsam tends to be finalized in the 1930s, and its characteristic lies in the eclectic combination of traditional clothing and Western-style clothing. The matching of cheongsam with western-style jackets and western-style accessories is also one of the main features of Shanghai-style cheongsam.
In Anhui District, black-and-white gray is used as the theme color of the Hui-style space, and the background wall with overlapping mountain shadows, combined with draped yarns, together with the curved booth create a
Graceful beauty. It sets off the introverted, reserved and simple temperament of Huizhou cheongsam.
The cheongsam life area uses the pink color of classical oil paintings as the theme color of cheongsam life. After the New Culture Movement, the transformation of women’s social roles also affected
Changes in women’s clothing. More and more women are stepping out of traditional families and participating in social activities. Whether it’s a movie star, a painter,
Scholars, through the cheongsam, show their individual pursuits, not only a fashionable dress, but also a modern thought, a new way of life.
Through the combination of the atmosphere of Hui style culture and Shanghai style culture and cheongsam, the cheongsam is more completely displayed to the visitors. The lighting in the exhibition hall is relatively dim. Through the light and dark changes of light, we conform to the characteristics of the times, create an atmosphere of looking back at history, and let visitors immerse themselves in it.
