GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 12th edition

Toronto Pearson, Canada’s busiest airport, now hosts the YYZ Signature Suite, exclusive for Air Canada international business travelers. Its thought-out organic elements break the linearity of the design with creativity and refinement.

The team wanted to create a high-end experience. As we enter, the maple wood coverings add serenity and elegance. Splendid wooden panels lead guests to the core space and five-star restaurant. Showcasing a limestone and Italian marble finish, the main space’s beauty is enhanced by a sculptural chandelier and a panoramic mural of a typical northern forest winter scene. Made by Canadian artists, these art works offer a sophisticated departure card for travelers awaiting boarding.

“We easily forget that we’re in an airport and the lighting helps us relax upon entering!” The jury was charmed by the warm design and the various relevant references to Canadian natural resources such as maple wood and boreal forests.
