In the heart of Pointe-aux-Trembles, in the east end of Montreal, lies the new administrative space of the Pointe-de-l’Île Service Centre, an ambitious and exciting project. The three-story, 3,000 m2 building required meticulous attention to detail and the ability to anticipate future needs.
Working closely with the members of the CSSPI, our team took on the challenge of creating an expansion that blends well with its surroundings while meeting the growing demand for space. The bold vision shared by all involved resulted in a building that combines elegance and practicality. Before proceeding, a precise analysis of the client’s needs was conducted. Space and functionality requirements were meticulously identified, as well as the complex interactions between the various departments. Special consideration was given to universal accessibility to ensure that all users could benefit from the improvements.
This new extension now offers optimized circulation and workspaces that are comfortable, ergonomic and, above all, adapted to telecommuting. Rest and relaxation areas and noise reduction devices have been specially designed. Thus, like a contemporary work of art, the expansion of the CSSPI administrative center becomes a symbol of commitment and excellence in architecture. A link where convenience and beauty are combined for the greater comfort of employees.
The limits of conventional architecture have been transcended to propose a building where the elements are in harmony. The firm considered the position of each façade according to the whims of the sun, in order to promote optimal integration of the building into its environment. In addition, local materials were chosen, with a focus on recycling construction waste and working closely with engineers to reduce water, ventilation and air conditioning consumption. A biophilic spirit was infused into each room to create a soothing and stimulating atmosphere, in symbiosis with nature. Wood, a noble and emblematic material of our region, is omnipresent in this creation, reminding us of their commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage.
The administrative center has become a symbol of community involvement, which testifies to their desire to actively participate in the socio-ecological transition of our time. Within this community, this new center occupies a central and essential position. Close to the bicycle path, leading residents to the river, its conspicuous presence is commensurate with its recent construction, and already the heart of the city has fallen in love with it.
The CSSPI’s administrative center has become a centerpiece of the social fabric of the Pointe-aux-Trembles community.
