GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 15th edition

Discipline : Communication & Branding

Categories : Brand Design / Brand Identity Creation and Update : Silver Certification

Etienne Bernier Architecture, which turned 10 years old in November 2021, has changed its name to Agence Spatiale.
The old name no longer represented the extent of the services or their mission. The desire to define itself as "an agency" position the firm in a broader range of interventions and as an office with a desire to question more conventional practices.
The objective of this transition is to propose an evolution towards an agency that brings together the spatial disciplines of architecture, art, interior design, urban design, branding, furniture and more. The name refers directly to the firm's services and its unique approach, while leaving a sympathetic doubt with a double meaning semantics that appeals to the imagination.
Habits and design evolve, but cherished memories remain. This is the premise that inspires the team. The firm proposes an inclusive approach designed to offer a wide range of expertise and to focus on the human experience. Their mission: to shape space and distort time by bringing together a team that dares to dream the impossible.
To support this transition, the company has adopted a new brand image designed by Maxime Rheault and Chany Lagueux of Critérium. A complete redesign that reflects the essence of the team and their projects, at the border between architecture, art and design.
The graphic identity explores simplicity and presents the typography in which the words Agency and Spatial frame a free space. The lines of the symbol meet and move to define a graphic universe thought as a blank canvas that leaves room for the mission and projects. Used in two dimensions as a graphic grid that structures the space, their expression in three dimensions evokes the formation of a free physical space, a subtle nod to architecture and the multidisciplinary nature of the agency. A graphic direction that explores the notion of time and space. Associated with the name, the image takes on its full meaning and clearly informs the company's activities.
