GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 12th edition
Always preferring a harmonious integration into the neighbourhood for each of its stores, rather than imposing itself in any given location, the famous brand has found the perfect design for its location in Little Burgundy, near the easternmost extremity of the Lachine Canal, paying homage to the borough’s heyday as a jazz hub in the 1940s—a time when the music of Oscar Peterson and the Sealey Brothers wafted through the streets.
The mix of brass, curved wood furniture and dark velvet fabrics creates a nocturnal vibe reminiscent of a speakeasy. The execution is polished, thanks to the meticulousness with which the furnishings and displays were chosen and the eye for detail that ensures each element receives the most appropriate lighting. The design is coherent throughout, with a wind instrument motif whose dominant curves surprise and seduce.
A sense of quality and luxury permeates the outside, beckoning us into the warm intimacy of the attentions received inside. Beyond customer service, there is a genuine customer seduction at work here.
