123Dentist/Groupe Lapointe, Canada’s largest dental services organization, wanted a modern, stimulating and collaborative new head office that would inspire a desire to return to the office. After helping them search for the ideal space according to their success criteria, they chose to settle in Brossard, in the Dix30 district, for its dynamism and accessibility for their team.
To bring this vision to life, the integrated design firm A+, in collaboration with DESK architects, created an 8,000 sq. ft. space vibrant with warmth and light.
The material selections of wood, polished concrete and glass, and the chromatic palette oscillating between white, grey and light wood, were meticulously orchestrated to instill a bright, contemporary yet soothing ambience, subtly evoking the medical world.
In a minimalist approach, the concrete columns were deliberately left exposed, bringing a streamlined aesthetic that visually frees up the space. Despite the major constraint of preserving the suspended acoustic tile ceiling, the designers succeeded in combining aesthetics and functionality by integrating stylized lighting fixtures such as suspended globes, in perfect harmony with the desired overall design.
The layout includes a variety of zones carefully designed to meet the diverse needs of employees while promoting collaboration and productivity. Collaborative meeting spaces, adaptable conference rooms and glazed offices have been integrated to encourage team interaction and focus. The cafeteria, infused with natural light, offers a welcoming and versatile setting, ideal for informal gatherings and collaborative work sessions. An open-plan work area, equipped with height-adjustable furniture, boosts collaboration and communication between employees. Finally, individual changing rooms have been provided to promote organization and personal comfort for employees, freeing workstations from clutter and helping to maintain a tidy, efficient working environment.
The integration of wooden claustras lends an extra touch of elegance, while providing a subtle separation between different spaces. These walls not only delineate zones with finesse, but also encourage the natural circulation of light and air, creating a harmonious, well-balanced atmosphere.
In addition, the integration of biophilia through planters and vases placed at various points on the floor reinforces the green aspect of the working environment. By offering a connection with nature, these plant elements help to create a dynamic, lively workspace, promoting employees’ physical and mental well-being.
In short, 123Dentist/Groupe Lapointe’s new premises are a real magnet for its employees and the industry’s talent. These stimulating spaces inspire employees to approach each working day with renewed enthusiasm and unwavering commitment.
