The Auberge La Montagne Coupée gets its name from the terrain on which it has been located for 30 years. Situated on a hillside, it offers an exceptional view of the expansive landscapes of Lanaudière, which guests can now admire in a contemporary, warm, and naturally integrated setting.

Following the acquisition of the establishment in 2017, a new pavilion dedicated to private events was constructed on the site. A few years later, the owner decided to undertake a complete renovation of the hotel. While the architecture remained in excellent condition, the interior arrangements appeared outdated.

The concept is directly inspired by the surrounding nature and is structured around a few key principles such as comfort, harmony, and timelessness. Organic shapes, the material palette mainly composed of wood and marble, as well as neutral tones, ranging from shades of green to beige, convey this intention. The continuity between interior and exterior, already marked by the existing large bay windows, is enhanced by the orientation of all spaces towards the landscape, as well as by the abundance of plants within the common areas.

While the 51 rooms were renovated without major transformation, the reception area was completely rethought. Upon entering, a monumental staircase invites one to look upwards. Its redesigned gypsum railing adopts a fluid line that accompanies movement and accentuates the height effect. The large reception counter was replaced by a more discreet piece of furniture, while the addition of small lounges and pergolas helps bring the space to a more human scale.
