In La Malbaie, L’Île mystérieuse reveals itself as a unique immersive space, combining a museum area, a boutique, and a bold-design restaurant-lounge. Conceived by the team at For Design Planning, this ambitious project was awarded the 2024 Design of the Year Prize at the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN, recognizing the excellence of its conceptual approach.
Envisioned as a contemporary tribute to the world of Jules Verne, the space blends noble materials, theatrical lighting, and evocative scenography. It showcases the precious collection of Mr. Jacquelin Bouchard — a passionate collector and co-owner of Chez Truchon — who aimed to make these exceptional pieces accessible to the public in an elegant, mysterious, and inspiring setting.

Set sail for L’Île Mystérieuse in La Malbaie — a place where every design detail evokes the fascinating world of Jules Verne, and more specifically his novel The Mysterious Island.
In this fantastical setting, treat yourself to one of our many cocktails—whether Signature or Classic—along with local beers, mocktails, sharing boards, tapas, oysters, octopus, or calamari.
Our team will be happy to welcome you, indoors or on the terrace, for an apéro, a lunch, or a light meal… that can easily turn into a full feast.
And to extend the experience, digestifs are served until 11 p.m.
