Hôtel SonoLux is Open
A Contemporary Art Hotel in Old Montreal
A few months ago, INT Design introduced the SonoLux project in Old Montreal on St-Jacques. Today, the hotel is open, and early visitors are unanimous: the experience exceeds expectations. Conceived as an inhabited contemporary art space, the hotel fully reveals its identity when it is walked through, lived in, and experienced.
Since opening, the spaces have come to life. The lobby transforms with each projection, the corridors become exhibition passages, and the stunning heritage building blends seamlessly with the futuristic audiovisual installations to create an immersive environment that resonates with the rhythm of its guests.

SonoLux is not just a hotel, but a place where visitors take the time to explore and inhabit the space. The guest experience design conceived by Épik Collection—combined with Zabb’s interior design, Geiger Huot’s architecture, and Solotech’s audiovisual systems—goes far beyond functionality or aesthetics. Here, design serves art and its transformative power.
The comfort of the 36 rooms is undeniable, offering space, calm and minimal design. These havens are designed as cocoons of relaxation, where guests can recentre and unwind, with the creativity of the hotel—and of Montréal—right at their fingertips, whenever they choose.

At LUMI, the culinary experience has become a true sensory revelation. The seasonal dishes of Chef Graham Hood—precise and ingredient-driven—take on a new dimension through the artwork by Katherine Melançon with Mue’s soundscape, projected each evening. This artistic presence creates an enveloping atmosphere that highlights the present moment—a subtle dialogue between art and refined flavours, suspending time.
Down in Subterra, the first evenings quickly found their audience. Programmed by SonoLux’s music curator, Fred Everything, top Montréal DJs have inaugurated this one-of-a-kind subterranean audio lounge. The listening experience is eclectic and exploratory, driven by vinyl and the delicious cocktails crafted by Clément Wallas. Visitors discover a space of musical well-being unlike anything else in Montréal.

The inaugural exhibition, Seeds of R/Evolution, curated by Cheryl Sim, invites visitors to contemplate the mechanisms of social change by looking simultaneously toward the past and the future. The voices of nine artists broaden our perception by observing nature and the cosmos, and by exploring strategies of justice, resilience, and survival.

SonoLux continues its mission: to offer a living space where contemporary art, design, fine dining, and music meet naturally, shaped by an ever-evolving program. A new proposition in Montréal’s landscape—a refuge where the experience is lived fully, and where every visitor contributes to the space’s story.
