María SALVATI
Born in Montreal, daughter of a family of Italian restaurateurs and builders. Maria studied fashion marketing at Lasalle College.
She founded a magazine for the fashion industry after recognizing that there was a void for fashion designers and manufacturers to reach retailers. She created a fun and ecstatic buyer’s guide in partnership with Publicor (Quebecor’s magazine division).
Became marketing director for building 555 Chabanel, in charge of refining the building’s image. Created all marketing and advertising, press communications, annual fashion shows, the buyer’s guide and buyer’s markets from the buyer’s point of view. At this time, the Mackage fashion designer was launched and Maria prepared his first press release and introduced him to the media. In the 5 years that she took on this mandate for the building, it grew from 50 buyers participating in the fashion show to 850 buyers and guests.
While publishing her magazine, she came across interior designer Jaime Bouzaglo who designs boutiques for Italian fashion designer Cerruti and Armani on an international level, she interviewed him on the design and marketing side for the Canadian retail industry. At the time, he had designed the award-winning PrimaDonna and Mediteraneo restaurants for his local work. His work was so inspiring that she worked in press relations and communications at CREAR – Jaime Bouzaglo for 16 years, and published 4 books on his creations. She has remained a consultant and partner ever since.
In all humility, she prefers to be in the world of creation, without borders of ideas and the marketing of projects. Her hymn for the moment is; “live your dreams”.
