Andy Dowding is the head of Urban Design and Masterplanning (UD+M) at Lambert Smith Hampton, a leading UK commercial and residential real estate consultancy and agency. He has almost 25 years’ experience delivering significant urban design and masterplanning projects, planning applications, and development appraisals that encompass mixed-use renewal and repair.
Andy specialises in the preparation of urban design studies and masterplans at a range of scales and complexities including site promotion, urban extension, new community, town centre frameworks, townscape appraisals, high-density brownfield developments, and design codes. He has led or contributed towards major urban renewal projects at King’s Cross Central, London 2012, Hereford Old Market, Cambridge Innovation Campus, and Graven Hill Village, and prepared town centre urban regeneration frameworks and masterplans at Sleaford, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Hailsham, Crawley, Colchester, Salisbury, and Lewisham, helping to raise significant land values on behalf of major investors, funds, and institutions.
Andy’s work combines a rigor for detail, structure, and communication to deliver exceptional design solutions that maximise the value of people, place, and the environment. He has worked across architectural, landscape, and property masterplanning practice at Allies and Morrison, LDA Design, and Savills.
