As the creative director of Alykhan Velji Designs, Alykhan Velji has transformed his boutique firm into a dynamic lifestyle brand. With over 17 years in the design industry, he and his team have infused the Canadian design scene with an energetic and sophisticated flair. Renowned for his masterful approach to mixing styles, patterns, and textures, Aly is known for weaving in the unexpected—creating spaces that feel personal, transcend trends, and stand the test of time.
Catering to both residential and commercial clients, Aly is also a recognized presence in Canadian television. His work has been featured in top national and international publications, including AD, Dzeen, Domino, Living Etc, House & Home, WL, and Style at Home. His impact on the industry has earned him numerous accolades, most recently being named one of Canada’s Top 100 Design Firms by House & Home Magazine (2024).
Aly’s vision extends beyond interiors, with a series of successful collaborations that bring his design ethos to life. These include the AFERA rug collection (2014), the SALVAGE furniture line crafted from reclaimed wood (2016), the Modern India capsule collection with Moblia (2019), the Wanderlust furniture line with Urban Barn (2023), and two wallpaper collections with Canada’s Roll Out. Most recently, he launched Modern Heritage with SILVA, a Canadian-made furniture collection celebrating heirloom-quality craftsmanship and the revival of traditional design.
