PROUST QUESTIONNAIRE – PEOPLE OF DESIGN VERSION!
What are three basic rules you learned from your mentors?
■ Never give up.
■ Be independent.
■ Follow your path.
What project launched your career?
I’ve entertained a long-time collaboration with Interni Magazine. For the first book published about Vincent Van Duysen’s work, edited by Gustavo Gili, Barcelona. I wrote all texts and general coordination. As per the first book about Stefan Schöning: I proudly wrote the introduction.
Do you listen to music while you work and what music is that?
No, I watch TV series I’ve already seen in the background.
Do you work in PJs or three-piece suits?
Neither, nor, I’m fine with comfortable but decent clothes or homewear.
What is your current design state of mind?
The world after COVID-19…
What living designer/architect do you most admire?
Vincent Van Duysen, Joseph Dirand, Ferruccio Laviani, Luca Bombassei, Alberto Campo Baeza, Fran Silvestre, Vincenzo de Cotiis, Neri & Hu, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Claesson Koivisto Rune, Nendo, Stefan Schöning, Luca Nichetto, Odo Fioravanti, Naoto Fukasawa, Thomas Heatherwick, Tom Dixon, Giulio Cappellini, Ron Arad… and someone else for sure!
Which project is the epitome of your work?
The History of the Milan Fuorisalone, to be printed for the next Milan Design Week, when it will be…sorry, no picture, it’s still confidential!
How are your country of belonging’s values reflected in your work?
One of the most exciting work I’ve done is the book about the History of the Milan Fuorisalone. That’s pure creativity and invention… the heritage of my country, Italy.
If a spell were to transform you into an object, by all means, what would you like to be, and why?
A bowl. You think it’s only useful, because you take it for granted, but if you don’t have it, you realize how precious it is…
What is your favorite place in the world?
One is not enough! Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, New York, Antwerp, London, Lisbon, Sao Paulo, Ischia Island…
Kuala Lumpur | London | Shanghai | New York |
