PROUST QUESTIONNAIRE – PEOPLE OF DESIGN VERSION!

What prescient youthful memory relates to your present career?

When I was little, I always played to imagine houses and I used to cut out my mother’s magazines to make furniture catalogues.

What are three basic rules you learned from your mentors?

1 – Be simple.
2 – Pursue the project’s goal.
3 – Work with passion.

Quel projet a lancé votre carrière ?

Vas-One, the large plastic flower pot created for Serralunga launched my career.

Any music playing while you work?

No, thank you! I need silence.

Do you work in PJs or three-piece suits?

PJs please!

What is your current design state of mind?

I feel blessed and happy to finally be working on my own projects…

What living designer/architect do you most admire?

Long gone are the days of grand masters…

Charles Percier (1764-1838) P-F-L Fontaine (1762-1863) C-N Ledoux (1736-1806)

What always inspires you?

Water, water, water. Sea water, shower water as long as it’s water… it’s inspiring to me!

If a spell were to transform you into an object, by all means, what would you like to be, and why?

I would be La Conica espresso maker designed by Aldo Rossi for Alessi. The object exudes both design and architecture. Simply perfect!
