PROUST QUESTIONNAIRE – PEOPLE OF DESIGN VERSION!
What project launched your career?
The project that launched my career was founding the architectural magazine THE PLAN in 2000, with my husband Nicola Leonardi. At the beginning, it was only the two of us.
THE PLAN COVER ISSUE 125 – 2020
Now we are a group of around 25 people working at the magazine which now has subscribers in some 70 countries and distribution in newsstands, airports, railway stations, shopping malls, bookstores, in more than 41 countries. Our world-wide distribution counts 28,500 copie (with a paper, digital, tablet version).
Eight issues per year in three full editions: Italian, English and Chinese.

Do you work in PJs or three-piece suits?
As for music styles, I wear different pieces. I’m meteopatic, my spirit is different every day so my way of getting dressed is different as well.
What is your current design state of mind?
I’m currently interested in design that has a positive impact on human’s lives.

What living designer/architect do you most admire?
I admire the work of Michele De Lucchi, his designs have the perfect balance between handicraft production and industrial design.
What past designer/architect inspires you the most?
Gio Ponti’s architecture, industrial design and pieces of writings are an immense source of inspiration.

What is your favorite place in the world?
My favorite place in the world is our home in Bologna and the park right next to it.
My husband Nicola and I love to walk in the beautiful landscape of the Appenini just outside the city center.
If you could host any three guests, past or alive, over for dinner, who would you choose and what would you dare serving?
I would certainly love to invite three women which mean a lot to me:
Frida Kahlo, Zaha Hadid and Josephine Baker.
I would serve them Passatelli in brodo as a tribute to my region and some nice dish from my OTTOLENGHI cookbook with multicultural recipes created by Sami Tamimi and Yotam Ottolenghi.
