Typical British cultural symbols are integrated into the design DNA. The design is inspired by the dress of the British Royal Guards to display its distinctive colors. Through this space planning strategy, we were able to infuse some of this British culture through subtle image and color work. The location of the hotel determines its cultural characteristics. This approach to British cultural traits served to shape the hotel’s brand image in a very subtle way.
In terms of stylistic treatment, we were very clever in infusing elements of Shanghai’s local culture into the design of the project. Details such as the “glass” and a collection of “old Shanghai photos” were inserted into the décor in harmony with the prevailing British style to create a strong color contrast, making a true timeless dialogue between “Shanghai culture” and “English style” possible. All of this contributes to creating a spiritual feeling of “Haipai Britain” as the spatial experience of future customers.
