Sébastien LEBEL

Sébastien Lebel has been a landscape architect with Ville de Québec since 2003, honing his skills on a wide range of projects of varying scale and scope in numerous public areas and landscapes and on big multidisciplinary, pioneering projects. His expertise extends to multiple disciplines and fields, including urban design, architecture, and landscape architecture. He focuses on active transportation, sustainable urban renewal, heritage and cultural landscape development, and the creation of high-quality, accessible public space and healthy, welcoming, and safe living environments. He is the coordinator of Ville de Québec’s Guide pratique d’accessibilité universelle, a member of the board of Association des architectes paysagistes du Québec, and he’s had a hand in a range of participatory and codesign approaches. He stays fresh and gives back to the profession by critiquing projects and serving on project juries for Université Laval’s School of Architecture and School of Product Design. Actually, he has been part of the municipal infrastructure design team at the Quebec Tramway project office. For the project, he has produced draft layout and passenger facility plans and contributed to the design guidelines and technical clauses for the call for proposals. He has helped develop the project’s architectural and landscaping signature, drawing inspiration from places along the route to ensure the tramway line is truly part of the urban fabric.
