After years of passionate research and meticulous work crafting a comfortably luxurious off grid eco-retreat, Coulibri Ridge welcomed its first guests in December 2021. Secluded off-grid luxury : experience the peace of mind of a minimal footprint eco-retreat amid 200 acres of lush wilderness in Dominica.
Comfortable, off-grid luxury
Coulibri Ridge is an intimate, off-grid eco-resort with 14 spacious air-conditioned studios and duplex suites, ranging in size from 930 square feet (86 m2) to 1,550 square feet (144 m2).
All units have large terraces with exceptional sea views of Martinique to the south and are equipped with custom kitchens and furnishings. Seven duplex suites also have an additional north facing terrace offering views of the Sulphur Spring Valley and of those, four suites have an outdoor shower garden and three have a private pool.
Sustainable luxury is all about the constant, conscious choices we make to preserve rarity and beauty and to enjoy well-being without depleting resources. By using creative design and harnessing local resources, sustainable luxury sets new standards of uniqueness, efficiency and quality.
Why is this Sustainable luxury?
For Coulibri Ridge, this meant that from its inception, every aspect of the resort was carefully researched and implemented to minimize impact on the environment: from the construction methods used and the off-grid, alternative power technologies selected to the ways of harvesting pure rainwater and the furniture and linens chosen for their lesser environmental footprint.
Sustainable luxury is also about respecting the labour and craftsmanship inherent to the goods and services we enjoy. Conscious choices concerning the operation of the resort, including the hiring of our friendly local staff and the preference given to organic, locally sourced ingredients and amenities, are ongoing. The philosophy behind Coulibri Ridge and our wider community engagement through the two non-profit organizations we founded, the Humane Society of Dominica and REZDM, are at the heart of our commitment to Dominica and its long term sustainability goals.
All that is needed for peaceful rest, active discoveries and inspired work
Coulibri Ridge guests enjoy two stunning communal swimming pools, two dining rooms, a spa, a yoga pavilion, a gym, two meeting rooms, concierge services and complimentary wifi, as well as 200 acres of lush wilderness, mature tropical gardens and fields, an orchard, a farm and 18th century estate ruins to explore. Private tours and excursions to locations throughout the island are proposed daily, allowing our guests to discover the richness of Dominica’s culture and enjoy its pristine natural beauty.
From conception to operation
A story of off-grid sustainable development, Coulibri Ridge was designed from its inception as a long term research project in how to respectfully develop and operate a modern, resilient eco-resort
