Emilia WECKMAN

Emilia Weckman, Aalto University School of Arts Department of Architecture, Lecturer in Landscape Architecture. Emilia Weckman graduated as landscape architect in 2005. She holds a qualification in teaching/ pedagogy. She has practiced as a designer in the profession landscape architecture mostly as an entrepreneur and consultant through her own practice (LOCI Landscape Architects Ltd until 2013, and now WE3 Ltd). Her experience as a designer includes a range of different planning scales, from city-wide commissions to more intimate, detailed construction projects. Emilia Weckman has 15 years of experience of actively taking part in the development of the profession in many positions of responsibility in Finland and internationally: as president of MARK, Finnish Association for Landscape Architects (2015-2017) and over 10 years as a member of the board, now responsible for education and academic affairs. She is active in collaboration with VYL; Finnish Landscape Industries Association, an umbrella organization for the whole Green Sector Associations. She is the past Vice President Education in IFLA Europe (2015-2019).
