Distillerie 3 Lacs is a Quebec based distillery producing quality and ready-to-drink (RTD) spirits. This market is very competitive and has been expanding rapidly in recent years. For example, the Quebec RDI market has increased by 75%* in 2020 and the trend continues. The craze for gins created in Quebec and mixology have also propelled sales and consequently pushed up the supply on the shelf. With the proliferation of comparable and quality products, the brand must invest more to remain relevant and appealing to an epicurean target that seeks the best, prefers to drink less but better, and is on the lookout for the latest trends in tableware.
D3L's philosophy has always been to produce quality. Quality in the bottle, and quality in the brand image. The website was outdated and not equipped to adequately showcase the brand's innovative products and new packaging, and most importantly the brand itself. D3L also wanted to promote its latest derivative products and the current platform was simply not up to the company's ambitions.
So it was decided to work on a new online experience that would dazzle both the people behind the brand and the consumers. Efforts were focused on 3D animation in order to provide a refreshing browsing experience. Heroes were used in the design of the site to promote the new gin PABs: the flagship products of the D3L brand. The challenge was to design a web environment that would meet the codes of this hyper-competitive market while allowing the brand to distinguish itself from the other players without tipping over into the m'as-tu-vu. Classy design.
