ÉDITIONS 8888 ONLINE

Éditions 8888, object creator, has launches its brand new online store and offers, for the occasion, a design entirely made in Montreal, the Black Metal side table.

Guided by the vision of its founder Jean-Michel Gadoua, the boutique 8888 features furniture, decorative objects and home accessories from the Wet Metal collection.

Pieces from the Wet Metal collection are creations of rising Quebec design stars and stand out for the contrasts of raw and luxurious materials.

Among the flagship creations of the Wet Metal collection:

▪ The Chair by Alexandre Joncas (Studio d’Armes) which combines chromed steel and 100% carbon neutral vegetable linoleum. It is a versatile piece of furniture that is both sculptural and functional.

▪ The Lazy Chair by Studio Kiff, a cozy juggernaut with elegant lines, made of the highest quality quartz and leather.

▪ The Endless Concrete Bench by Jean-Michel Gadoua and Guillaume Ménard, a concrete bench of infinite length, a tribute to the brutalist architectural style.

▪ The Pichet « 66 » by ceramist Élyse Leclerc, a reissue of the Koen de Winter ensemble, sold in tens of thousands of copies worldwide and included in the permanent collections of the MNBAQ and MoMA.

To mark its launch, the online store offers the all-new Black Metal side table designed for freestanding. Made entirely in Montreal, it sits halfway between sculpture and furniture. The hand-produced graphic piece is made of perforated steel and marble scraps. A design by Jean-Michel Gadoua and Guillaume Ménard.

ABOUT ÉDITIONS 8888

Éditions 8888 is a creator of visionary objects founded by Jean-Michel Gadoua. Éditions 8888 develops collections of objects designed by Quebecois designers who reject contemporary preconceptions and impose themselves without compromise. The furniture is at the centre of the first collection, but it also offers unique accessories, clothing, music and sculptures. Simply said, the identity of 8888 can be summed up by the term Brutaluxe ™…

Brutaluxe™: the desire to break away from the banality of mass production and praise imperfection with spontaneous creations and the use of raw materials.
