Music Public Kingdom is located in Hangzhou MO-MALL, with the theme of vinyl culture. It is the only compound in Hangzhou that integrates new retail of music products, book bar, audio-visual hall, recording studio, restaurant, bar and Live House.
Under the cross-border cultural context and vision, the designer positioned the MPK as a vinyl museum, which has a rich experience format and is more inclined to transmit music culture in terms of attributes. And define MPK as a part of urban social space: on the one hand, as a spiritual space, it can help people to re-recognize the past and present of vinyl music; on the other hand, as an urban cultural consumption place, it should be able to Visitors provide a charming and even experimental and exploratory musical journey. People visiting here can immerse themselves in the entire environment, slow down time, enjoy the triple experience of sight, hearing, and taste, and enjoy a unique urban music public social space.
MPK consists of four areas: outdoor plaza, outdoor corridor and two independent interior spaces. The interior space is only 500 square meters, but it has to carry functions beyond the space itself, so the designer defined each space as a composite space in the initial planning. Each space is divided by colors, materials and furniture.
The interior space realizes the sense of rhythm and rhythm of light and shadow through the expression of basic geometric shapes such as natural light and artificial light through linear light, spot light and surface light.
The art installation standing on the square is “Nipper listening to the phonograph” which is very familiar to vinyl enthusiasts. The outdoor corridor space is designed as a whole light curtain wall, connecting the two relatively independent indoor spaces, and using a forced sequence and visual impact to create an infinitely extended sense of space.
