By : Malo
GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 14th edition
Discipline : Communication & Brand Design
Categories : Environmental Design / Mural & Artistic Installation : Silver Certification
The project submitted to the city of Longueuil was a file entitled: An incursion into the world of Art Design. It consisted of a solo exhibition at the Longueuil library of my large oil paintings of dimensions: 72 inches by 60 inches, from the Penthouse series. The jury having chosen me, I had the chance to exhibit a dozen of my works for two months and thus offer visitors a glimpse of my work as a painter and designer.
These large canvases are the result of a creative process that encompasses all the skills and experiences accumulated during 37 years of practice as a designer and artist in visual arts. Oriented towards interior design, these large format landscapes immerse the viewer in contemporary architectural worlds. We find furniture, various lighting, characters, sculptures that create atmospheres sometimes very blurred, sometimes raw, where the sea is omnipresent, recalling memories of vacations or trips overseas.
These are playful atmospheres, but also an educational reminder of the basics of drawing and perspective games, sometimes voluntarily distorted or the colors of the violet-red spectrum allow simulations of depth variations, when associated with 3D glasses.
Some of the large paintings presented in the library have been created for national and international exhibitions, such as the SIDIM, the fairs of Monaco, Ibiza, and Chester (UK).
