GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 12th edition
A sophisticated immersion into a microcosm of Chinatown, in Laval. The restaurant’s doors open onto a fascinating universe. A mosaic of ambiances invites the visitor to engage in a variety of experiences tinged with exoticism. With an impressive total floor area of 10,000 sqft, each zone has been thought out with care and refinement.
A small recreation of a Chinese pergola overlooks a red zone with hundreds of hanging lanterns under which are laid out stools typical of Asian buffets. The atmosphere of Hong Kong’s streets has been captured by colourful neon signage that dominates another of the rooms. The ostentatiously opulent bars recall the outsized productions typical of Hong Kong cinema and judiciously occupy several levels.
Customized light fixtures add nuance to showcase the architectural details to best effect. An enchanting citywithin-a-city that leaves one wanting to return to experience the other ambiances that are just as fantastical.
