Green Places Community Clubhouse

GPD/APDC – 11th edition

This futuristic construction containing a dining room, a reading room, a gym, pools and common areas was built in Tainan, Taiwan, with the purpose of offering community residents a place that encourages new encounters and relaxation. A peaceful haven in nature, the building radiates an elegance and a simplicity that highlights the vegetation, thanks to its floor-to-ceiling windows which o er a splendid view of the land- scape. Nature is even part of the interior design, as real trees encased in glass tubes stand in the middle of the rooms.

A solid wall on the west façade blocks the heat due to the over exposition to the sun, stories meticulously positioned for an adequate water circulation, recycled construction materials, a ventilation system using natural temperature variations: everything was ingeniously designed to make nature an ally of the building. A unique and impressive piece with its curves and its details allowing humans and their environment to connect.
