Duplex renovation
We started from scratch for this project realisation. The basement has been excavated to add extra ceiling height and make it habitable; both inside structure and insulation have been entirely redone. It was a beautiful blank page that we’ve been able to work on.
The goal was to create a complete housing distributed on 2 floors, basement and ground floor, while keeping an independent rented apartment on the 2nd floor.
The interest was to entirely open the ground floor to create a wide open living space, easy to move from one zone to another, whereas the basement is reserved for evening area, laundry and mechanics rooms.
Simplicity and elegance have been the guidelines for this project’s conception; materials have been selected with great care to respect those refined principles.
Lighting also played a significant role in this project. It enhance the materials and volumes while creating a soft and warm atmosphere.
Project’s key element: Backlighted Staircase in steel, tempered glass and solid wood.
