In 2018, Collège Sainte-Anne embarked on a top-to-bottom renovation of its historic 1861 campus. The updated layout needed to accommodate today's educational vision while staying true to the building's heritage. The woodwork on the second floor—the busiest level—has been completely restored, giving a second life to the architecture of the past.
The corridors and classrooms underwent several improvements. Most notable is the addition of large interior windows. Featuring deep ledges that become workspaces on the go, they let in natural light that up until now was absent from the halls.
The redesigned classrooms were pepped up with a dynamic colour scheme and the addition of removable and height-adjustable furniture. Now, built-ins along the windows provide seating for solo work or small group meetings, all while creating extra storage space for teachers.
Underutilized areas were transformed into colourful workrooms, letting students continue their studies, collaborations, and discussions outside the classroom.
Signage used throughout the building was developed to reinforce institutional identity, create a sense of belonging, and direct users in their day-to-day activities. With renovations complete, every floor of Sainte-Anne is now consistent with the school's ever-evolving vision!
