MY PLAY SPACE is an unstructured play station designed to stimulate creativity and encourage collaboration. Intended for public spaces, the set provides children with an opportunity to take part in free play in a quality context. The concept was developed by observing children at play in an experimental play space.
The set includes a simple structure comprised of eight posts with pre-drilled holes, much like those in the Meccano building sets. There are also accessories of various shapes (handles, rings, hooks, etc.) that the children install where they want using large plastic bolts. And finally, reclaimed everyday items (tires, ropes, boxes, wooden boards, etc.) are included to complete the decoration of the structure. The play structure is a blank slate to avoid suggesting themes.
The structure is free-standing; all you need is a relatively flat piece of land on which to place it, no excavation required. MY PLAY SPACE can be disassembled and relocated quite easily, as needed. Although also comprised of aluminium and polyethylene, it is not a classic playground structure like those typically found in parks. It is a malleable play structure that transforms at the pace of its users.
