Inspired by the "Mid-Century Modern" style, the Garnier residence is an atypical renovation where the beauty of the materials is at the service of singular spaces that redraw the boundaries between private and public.
In response to the clients' desire for a change of scenery when they return home, the architects have played with the codes of the residential sector, immersing us in a bar-lounge style interior design. The chic living room-library, the kitchen where everything domestic is hidden in a furniture reminiscent of a restaurant counter, as well as the central walnut block that structures the space while concealing the stairs and bathrooms, contribute to the distinguished and somewhat secret atmosphere of the house.
Transcending the constraint of a double garage whose imposing presence dictated the program, the architects made the bold choice to place the resting spaces on the second floor while the living spaces located on the top floor benefit from a maximum of light. Accessible on three levels, the residence has formal entrances for guests and more private ones for the family.
The beautiful terrazzo slab that covers the floor brings a unique and luminous character to the space and helps build the rich color palette of the project.
With the Garnier residence, Dupont Blouin creates chic and masterful interiors that invite festivities and comfort in a hushed and luxurious universe.
