La Maison Simons
GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 7th édition
From the outset, La Maison Simons on Europa Boulevard in West Edmonton Mall can be distinguished by its exterior cladding made of titanium blades. This material was selected for its richness and for the way it captures light. The titanium slats were turned 180 degrees and installed at different angles giving visitors an array of colors depending on their point of view. They create a dynamic screen, pierced here and there with entrances and windows, some of which give a glimpse of imposing pieces of art suspended inside.
The boutiques different departments were thought out according to the collections and the target market. The youth clothing section, for example is colorful and striking. Meanwhile, the adult section is imbued with sobriety and class. Through the design of each area, the brand identity is enhanced. The ardent decor and intense colors of the changing rooms complete the liveliness of the store.
Despite this visual diversity, the whole is preserved in a sophisticated balance thanks to the know-how of LEMAYMICHAUDarchitecture, a company that has won the Commercial Space Award 5 400 ft2 and over.
