Circularity: Mapping the Reuse Ecosystem’s Stakeholders
The circular economy in the construction sector
Conference in French with simultaneous English translation · Presented by Caroline Dubuc · City of Montréal Design Office
Conference description
The reuse ecosystem in Montréal’s construction-renovation-demolition sector is taking shape. Join us for the presentation of an initial mapping of the key players in the field that professionals need to carry out circular projects.
Organized according to the sequence of a project, this mapping unfolds as a comprehensive plan for reuse. It’s a tool that applies as much to design or architecture projects as to events, landscape, or scenographic and museographic productions.
Key takeaways
1Designers play a key role : The design phase is the tipping point that can most influence the course of a project.
2It’s possible to start : Reuse and circularity can be incorporated into projects of any kind. No gesture is too small, but you have to begin.
3Moving beyond the “new at all costs” mindset : Valuing what already exists, local resources and craftsmanship rather than systematically defaulting to new materials.
4You are not alone : Sharing information is key to a project that integrates circularity. Tools already exist to help.
