Saty SHARMA

Saty Sharma is a Professor of Design for Sustainability at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). He holds a degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering, a master’s in Industrial Design from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Delhi, and a PhD in Design for Behavior Change for Sustainability from the PolyU School of Design, Hong Kong.
With over 15 years of experience in practicing Industrial design, he has worked on consumer goods, medical devices, and kitchen appliances, as well as leading research projects, Saty brings a strong blend of practical experience and academic insight. At SCAD, he teaches a range of graduate-level courses in the Design for Sustainability program, where he explores design-driven and systems-thinking strategies to address social and environmental challenges.
Saty’s research interests span the behavioral and psychological dimensions of sustainable well-being, design for behavior change, gamification, sustainable materials, and innovative design strategies that help designers improve the environmental performance of products and materials.
