Jonathan CHA

Jonathan Cha is a doctor in urban planning and development, an urbanologist, and a landscape architect (AAPQ-AAPC). His professional practice, teaching, research, conferences, and publications explore the identities and foundations of public spaces and parks by theorizing historical and contemporary practices. He teaches at the School of Urbanism and Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Urban Planning at the University of Montreal. Throughout his career, he has worked with firms to create several public spaces and has conducted numerous heritage and landscape studies on the Montreal territory. He has served on various advisory committees in the fields of architecture, urbanism, heritage, and cultural landscapes, and has been a member of the editorial board of the journal ARQ Architecture et design Québec. In recent years, he held the position of team leader in urbanism and conservation at Parc Jean-Drapeau and coordinated the development of the 2020-2030 Master Plan for Urbanism, Conservation, and Enhancement of Parc Jean-Drapeau.
