In the heart of Laval, the Espace Montmorency project stands out as a haven of peace and conviviality. Designed with a multigenerational vision, this residential complex offers a rich and varied program, bringing together several generations under one roof. This residential complex is distinguished by a diversified offering spread across the various terraces of the project’s four distinctive towers.
All residents’ needs are taken into account. Sports areas are provided with an outdoor gym, running track and even a rooftop basketball court. Residents also benefit from a spa, surrounded by pergolas and relaxation areas, promoting relaxation and well-being. There’s even a swimming pool, as well as innovative play areas for adults and children. Socializing and dining areas complete the picture, encouraging encounters and community exchange. Finally, green roofs and vegetable bins invite relaxation and community gardening, reinforcing residents’ connection with nature and urban biodiversity.
The project’s LEED-certified architecture incorporates innovative materials, with a bright color palette and artistic touches that enliven the roof, transforming the spaces into veritable islands of freshness. These choices of materials, with their high solar reflectance index (SRI), contribute to the fight against urban heat islands, while offering remarkable aesthetics.

The major challenge of the Espace Montmorency project lay in the harmonious integration of multiple functions on a single roof slab. The junction of materials and the durability of the structures were designed to withstand time and the elements, ensuring the longevity of this ambitious project.
The challenge of the Espace Montmorency project lay in the harmonious integration of multiple functions on a single roof slab.
The challenge of the Espace Montmorency project was to design such varied programming with welcoming environments on several roof levels. We had to adapt to rooftop constraints such as load limits, wind corridors and lack of shade. Durability of materials and construction was a priority, ensuring the longevity of this visionary project.

Finally, the planting was designed to require minimal maintenance, with two shrub strata, grasses and perennials, chosen for their resilience and low maintenance requirements. This choice reflects our commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment, while at the same time offering a lush, easy-to-maintain living environment.
