The Chambord project, was originally a three-storey triplex built in 1924. The owners, a young business owner in the construction industry and his spouse, undertook an ambitious renovation. Their goal: to transform this triplex into a multi-level residence, enhanced by a courtyard, offering comfort, brightness and functionality, while creating a rental unit on the top floor.
The main dwelling, spread over three levels, was designed with particular attention to the layout of generous, bright and convivial space. The basement was redesigned to accommodate an English courtyard, maximizing the amount of natural light inside the residence. The living areas on the first floor cross the dwelling from front to back, offering several appropriable sub-spaces.
The top floor dwelling features a mezzanine that acts as a veritable skylight, flooding the living spaces with natural light. This distinctive feature lends the dwelling a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The layout of the kitchen on the mezzanine level allows it to be deployed on its two terraces.
Furthermore, particular care was taken in the design of the rear exterior vertical circulation, thought of as a structuring element that is both functional and aesthetic. This reinforces the architectural cohesion of the whole building while guaranteeing a harmonious connection between the different levels of the residence, while preserving the occupants’ privacy.
Each staircase, created using laser-cutting techniques, has been carefully designed to combine lightness, aesthetics and functionality, offering a unique experience to its occupants.
