Thanasis POLYZOIDIS
Thanasis Polyzoidis is an architect (NTUA Athens) and landscape architect (MLA UPC–ETSAB), founder of TPOL Landscape Architecture and co-founder of the award-winning practice topio7. With over twenty years of professional experience, he works across all scales of public and private landscape and architectural design, with a strong focus on contextual integration (genius loci), ecological and bioclimatic strategies, and sustainable design.
His design philosophy is centered on the symbiosis and osmosis between the built environment and nature, exploring hybrid systems that integrate architecture and landscape. His work emphasizes a close relationship with natural processes, vegetation dynamics, and the structural role of planting, while addressing the mitigation of the effects of the climate crisis. He is also engaged in the exploration of artistic methods for the representation of landscape as part of the design process.
He has collaborated with internationally acclaimed architecture studios and global hospitality operators on projects ranging from metropolitan parks and waterfront redevelopments to high-end resorts and private landscapes. His work has been widely awarded, exhibited, and published internationally, and he has served as a jury member in national and international design competitions and awards.
