Marta MACCAGLIA
I hold a Master’s in Exhibition Space Design from ‘La Sapienza’ in Rome and have been based in Peru since 2011, specializing in architecture and cooperation projects. In 2014, I founded Semillas Association, dedicated to research, participatory workshops, and architectural projects across educational, residential, exhibition, public, cultural, and heritage spaces, emphasizing holistic development. I was co-founder of PLAN A 0-100 (2019-2021) and professor at UCAL University (2015-2023).
I’ve also actively engaged in various international conferences, including Harvard University, Cité de l’Architecture in Paris, ETH Zurich, Royal Academy, Mies Crownhall, among others.
Semillas has received multiple recognitions, such as DIVIA Award in Berlin (2023), finalist in the Dorfman Award by the Royal Academy in London (2022), Finalist in the Mies Crown Hall of Americas Prize (MCHAP. Emerge) from the Illinois Institute in Chicago (2022), and Finalist in the Ar-Emerging Architecture Awards by Architectural Review (2020).
Additionally, we’ve been honored with the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture by La Cité de l’Architecture in Paris (2018), the ASF Award in Thailand (2019), and recognized as part of the Social Design Circle Honoree in the Curry Stone Design Prize (2017).
I’m passionate about photography, traveling, embracing diverse cultures, and infusing the insights gathered from my life and professional experiences into both my architectural and academic endeavors
