GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 17th edition
Discipline : Interior Design
Categories : Office / Office 5,400 - 54,000 sq.ft. (500 - 5 000 sq. m.) : Gold Certification
Eurovia Québec wanted to move towards a more stimulating work environment, from a traditional structure to a friendly, modern space. To support them in this transformation, integrated design firm A+, in collaboration with ISSA Studio, deployed its expertise to completely rethink their working environment. In their previous offices, the atmosphere was dark and excessively compartmentalized, with little interaction between employees. Consequently, a move was imperative to find a more inspiring location.
After helping them find the right 15,000 sq. ft. space, the mandate was clear: create an elegant, bright office with dynamic exchange spaces, guarantee areas of confidentiality and focus on the occupants’well-being. The challenge was to design an uncluttered space combining open and closed spaces to meet the specific needs of the departments and the cohabitation of two divisions, Eurovia Québec and Vinci Construction Canada, on the same floor.
The selection of materials, textures and colors was carefully thought out to create a harmonious and functional environment. Sustainable materials such as concrete and wood were favored to establish a balance between modernity and nature. The color blue was chosen to evoke the brand’s identity, while white was chosen for its purity and luminosity. Finally, the use of textures such as velvet in the cafeteria brings softness and a visually rich and profound aesthetic.
The design team also created zones dedicated to exchanges, including open offices for collaboration, meeting rooms for formal discussions and collaborative spaces to encourage creativity and productivity. A central element of this space is the « business center », equipped with a large conference table and a nearby coffee area. An essential place for strategic meetings between the management teams of the two divisions. The cafeteria, at the heart of the company’s culture, has been designed to encourage social interaction and events, with a separate kitchen for catering on special occasions!
To guarantee the confidentiality of spaces, the presence of closed offices, telephone booths and the use of white metal claustras have been integrated to divide spaces without compromising brightness or conviviality. The furniture also responds to this need. For example, grey felt privacy walls in the open-plan office area, custom-designed wrap-around armchairs with extra-high sidewalls, which offer comfort while providing the necessary visual and acoustic privacy.
With the aim of enhancing team well-being, photometric and solar analyses were carried out to ensure adequate light distribution, thus ensuring a comfortable and energy-efficient working environment. In addition, superior ventilation control was designed to maintain optimum temperature and indoor air quality, while optimizing energy efficiency.
The integration of biophilia was also essential, with the presence of several planters gracing the décor to enhance well-being.
Finally, we can say that Eurovia Québec now has a workspace adapted to its needs and ambitions!
