The Tai Hotel Nanjing
After the real estate-led luxury hotel layout, and after the rapid development of the mid-range hotel market to fill, the current young people need more in line with their individual and unique travel residence, a new era has come: the era of boutique hotels
The Tai Hotel is a boutique hotel invested with real significance of Nanjing, which is meticulously built by the designer with the feelings of owners from two different generations. It is a work which is not superficial, but a work of humanism.
We extracted a color called Nanjing Green — the green of Wutong tree, andanother color which is Nanjing Grey — the gray of the reflection of the 600 years old city wall in the Pipa Lake. The main color of the space is the dialogue between green and gray, the murmur of lake water and mud, and the reflection of wutong leaves and the city wall.
SPACE AND DIFFUSE LIGHT DESIGN
Through the plan, we set up the progressive space circulation mode of the classical mansion, step by step, turning from the dark hallway to the bright lobby, from the light to the dark of service desk, and then from the dark to the deeper quiet, into the corner bar of which has lonely temperament.
Space setting from low to high, and then from high to low; Light goes from light to dark, then to light, dark, darker, and finally light.
SPACE ARTISTIC TEMPERAMENT
At the entrance, we express the joy of seeing a big fish abstract sculptureat the water’s edge through the dark light . In the lobby,we express the quietness of sitting by the water through the sculpture of rippling water frozen, and through the seating set up by the water.
In the check-in area, we try to make make guests feel the warmth of returning home through the fireplace and the temperature it radiated .
Atthe corner bar, we have set up many corners so that guests could find a small space for quiet communication among the midst of the bustling city.
Through the control of light, and people’s inner natural need for water and fire,we shape the warm feeling of home .
LOW KEY DESIGN
The door of the hotel is hidden, hidden in the side, the most prominent is the inner transparent glass , as huge image, bring visual communication with passers-by, let them feel the attraction, and look for the entrance.
KINDLY DESIGN
Conventional hotels don’t like to let non-resident guests stay in the lobby space for a long time, but we hope that the hotel we designed can allow visiting guests to quietly experience the artistry of the hotel slowly, resonate with the hotel, bring joy, and thus pass on. Therefore, we set up two free resting areas in the lobby, one in the concierge area, by the water-shaped sculpture, so that guests can feel the change of space, the change of light and shadow; one in the main service desk area, beside the fireplace, where we use fire to transmit warmth. We hope our guests will find a warm feeling of home here.
CHINESE DINING AREA DESIGN
The Chinese restaurant uses silt dark grayand aqualight green aqua as the main colors of the space, providing a social, private sense of decorum. The Chinese public space, with dim light settings, creates a sense of privacy. The color of the private room area uses aqua green to brighten up the space, using only artwork to lighten the space.
BUFFET DESIGN
The color of restaurant is different from the hall, using original color of wood to reflect nature, and small gardens or small flower beds are setting up around it to make the space having a feeling of being wrapped by plants.Wood, with the vitality of growth, hopes that the guests will enjoy a good morningby sitting in the restaurant space with the combination of plants and art .
GUEST ROOM DESIGN
The guest rooms are colored in the same vein as the public area, and the use of curved lines softens the hardness of the space and calms the hearts of the guests with elegant and low-saturation gray-green.
