GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 16th edition
Discipline : Interior Design
Categories : Office / Office ≤ 5,400 sq.ft. (≤ 500 sq. m.) : Platinum Winner
This work is the office and exhibition hall for “Tuscana” sun shading system form Italy in Shanghai, Space is obsessed with an endless exploration of fragmentary forms, and expresses fragmentary、insubstantiality and poetry of the work.
Space Communication:In this space, we hope to make people communicate with space through the fragmented presentation of space and the presentation of details. When the audience watches it, it opens a window between people and space. In this window, the fragments that evoke emotion appear repeatedly: the undulating steps, the layered and interspersed geometric form, the uncertain shadow, the beauty of materials.
Time:Time is a non-explicit and ubiquitous element that integrates individual experience into work, and time is a tool to decompose and reconstruct space. Time is often connected with life. Life is temporal and continuous. When we want to know everything about time, it is our experience of life.
Clipping “Sunlight”:Only the northwest side of the space has daylighting , and the entire east side lacks light, especially in the office area, including the meeting room.Based on the adoration of natural light, if possible, we want to cut out a skylight and let the light flow into these areas.
We represent the poetry of space from five aspects: Space Communication、Time、The Presentation Of Fragments、”Sunlight”、Details。When the fragments turn from sparse to dense, the presentation of fragments gives the work a charm that surpasses all the details, and the style of the work turns from vague to clear, turning tiny and fragile into power, while poetry becomes the most mysterious and unique quality in the presentation of fragments.
