Treats Miami
Made to embody a soda shop from a bygone era, Treats certainly lives up to its name! The 1000 sq. foot shop in the Miami Design District is replete with everything required to make a delicious dairy delight. In addition to the ice cream machines, there are griddles to make waffles should you require a “plate” for your ice cream. As for toppings, there are many. Customers are able to chose from a variety of cereals and/or sprinkles. Numerous canisters line the wall with a selection of cereals and 20 containers of assorted sprinkles are embedded into one of the counters.
Stone tiles line the walls of the shop and a high-end marble was used for the flooring. The stools surrounding the counter were custom-built with metal finished bases and padded seating. All kitchen equipment is stainless-steel.
Supply chain issues were part of the project, meaning alternative solutions had to be sourced for the manufacture of the storefront. In the end it was custom-made in Turkey with an NOA (notice of acceptance) rating. This rating indicates local approval for meeting the Miami-Dade requirements in a high velocity hurricane zone.
The Miami Design District also came with its own set of challenges. Multiple issues, such as city permitting and inspection had to be strictly adhered to. Some elements of the design were not compatible with the existing building structure and had to be overcome before construction could continue.
Ultimately, Treats is a great place for a quick dairy treat. The shop is part of the Kith family and is located across the street from the Kith flagship.
