Quinzhee + Beiko is the transposition of Guillaume’s passion for donuts into the freshly reinvented world of Beiko by Métah Nomis. The Beiko store experience is immersive. When customers enter, they find themselves in a parallel universe that they discover and experience from visit to visit, whether they are there simply for a take-out or to stay for a few hours. The architectural treatment of the space aims to highlight certain selected elements in order to direct the visitor’s attention and thus, make him go through the different spaces. Among these distinctive elements is the cash counter, a 20′ long counter presenting all the varieties of doughnuts available in the store, all displayed on a pedestal in the image of this round pastry shop: colorful, curved and mouth-watering. Indeed, this counter with its rounded ends and quilted texture is adorned with two huge pieces of concrete terrazzo and recycled glass reminiscent of the confetti of some of the doughnuts just above. Crowning this centerpiece is a custom light fixture with the same intentions. In line with the counter, an arched passageway emerges at the back of the room. On the other side of this passageway is a more composed space, separated from the much busier take-out counter traffic: the dining room. This space invites customers to sit and stay. Everyone can choose their seating between the more intimate banquette space and the more collaborative dining tables.
