Artopex, a 100% Quebec-based manufacturer of office furniture, in business for over 40 years, presents its new SC LOUNGE collection of modular chairs and privacy screens.

The search for comfort and the need for flexible solutions are two factors that have become very important in the design of work environments in recent years. Flexibility and comfort in the office and at home were the main design criteria for the SC Lounge collection.
Beyond the function of modular chairs, the SC Lounge collection also allows the configuration of small individual or meeting islands that promote exchanges and collaboration.
The main design challenge of the project was to combine comfort and residential appeal with commercial sustainability in a single product. Visually, SC Lounge is inviting and soothing with its round shapes, overflowing volumes and warm, enveloping textiles. These distinctive visual elements are the common thread that links the different components of the collection. The chairs, privacy screens, side tables and accessories have been designed to provide a relaxed collaborative or individual work environment.
Each component has been carefully designed not to clutter the small space that characterizes small work islands. The slim table legs, the metal components, laminated and upholstered with generous radii, everything has been designed to offer a safe space when accessing the sitting modules.
A molded aluminum base, which allows the upholstered portion of the product to remain off the floor and ensures its durability, was designed to reflect the organic shapes of the textile elements to create a very harmonious whole.
The SC Lounge collection offers a variety of armchairs and ottomans, a quick assembly system for components, accessories including shelves, a coat hook, a monitor support and light side tables on glides for maximum flexibility and freedom of action.
The 42 » or 54 » high privacy screens, which can be attached to chairs and ottomans or in a freestanding version, allow for configurations with more or less privacy, depending on the user’s needs. The privacy screens are assembled with colored zippers that add to the personality of the product.
The dimensions of the legs, seat, armrests, back and privacy screens have all been studied to minimize the waste of raw materials and optimize their use in the manufacture of components, without compromising the ergonomics and aesthetics of the product.
Flexibility of finish choices: over 300 fabrics for upholstered components, 34 enamel colors for metal components and 10 colors for zippers on privacy screens.
SC Lounge is the answer to today’s needs in terms of « complementary » workspace design. The collection is the result of a design process based on the real needs of users who require both a relaxing piece of furniture and a solution offering privacy. SC Lounge stands out for its comfort, its unique aesthetic details and its reconfigurability, thus optimizing its life cycle.
