La Grange
Have you ever visited a barn? Probably yes. However, have you ever visited a barn that serves up everything from Risotto, to Oysters, to Codfish jowls paired with full-bodied Wines. That’s perhaps less likely. At the crossroads of this uncertainty and contrast is the starting point of the interior design project of the restaurant La Grange by the firm MA-Architecte. The firm wants to transform the bucolic of this place into an urban space, uncluttered, simple, contemporary where the decor serves the dish. All this was made possible by the desire of a private client. Indeed, this client had bought in 2020 an old building in the heart of the Old-St-Jean-sur-Richelieu in Montérégie and wanted to open a new type/style of restaurant to differentiate itself from the available offer in the neighborhood. Based on this trust and close collaboration, MA-Architecte was able to give life to the concept of La Grange bar a vin with a more subtle look. Finally, the mandate of the firm was to succeed in transposing the universe of the Barn while remaining in a spirit and a coquettish and clear atmosphere.
