It is said that nature seeks simplicity, and it was this concept that served as inspiration for this luxury residential project. Positioned at the water’s edge in Saint-Dorothée, the property embodies the sophistication and elegance of the nature that surrounds it. This tone is set just steps into the entranceway with a stunning feature light by renowned artist and ceramicist, Jeremy Cole. Light is gently captured in this timeless ceramic flora-inspired light fixture. Ample fenestration allows the outdoors to pour into the grand kitchen and real wood and natural stone finishes were used to carry this theme into the kitchen and throughout the residence.
The kitchen is the heart of the home for this client and their family, a space for entertaining large groups of friends and family. Professional-grade appliances were sourced and seamlessly integrated with paneling. A 15-foot island was created, as well as a 7-foot-long sink and 15-foot-long bespoke formal dining table. A butler area and walk-in pantry benefit from the same high-end appliances and luxurious stone and wood finishing and as the rest of the kitchen. The result – a refined yet lavish multi-purpose setting for grand receptions with loved ones overlooking the river.
The design concept moves fluidly through every room and suite of the home. Each bathroom was given their own unique design personality. Of the nine bathrooms, three are highlighted here. The first is bursting with opulent white marble and bold gold accents. The second is dark and rich with mood lighting to amplify the “man-cave” quality. And the third, a blend of the previous examples, uses light and dark finishes to create harmony and balance.
In this project a balance between simplicity and richness was achieved through timeless design, exceptional materials, and embracing and incorporating the surrounding environment.
