Untreated fir for floorings, windows, doors and furniture, handcrafted terrazzo surfaces as well as handcrafted lime plasters characterize the scene. However, in contrast to massive stone buildings, lightweight concrete has gained the additional ability to insulate, thanks to technical know-how. Thus, concrete as a material was given an additional important property to make the ecosystem more sustainable, gaining sustainability itself. Old construction methods and their advantages were used in a new way through technical development (stone became insulating concrete) and their durability and the emotional added value of a monolithic building was increased. Targeted openings allow the building to get by without shading, the constant indoor climate is guaranteed through the phase shift and mass. The design reacts to elevation and climate. Cool nights, which are also usual in summer, let the big mass cool down. Thus, they gain the ability to take up energy again during the next day. The house was built and certified as KlimaHaus Nature. With the use of geothermal energy and little technical equipment in the building, no additional cooling is required, which is also supported by the targeted placement of the openings. The heat input is oriented to the sun (south-facing slope), the phase shifting is regulated by the mass. Canopies protect the house and shade it at the same time. All materials were produced, delivered and processed locally, by local craftsmen. In ordner to shape a circular economy, the material made from recycled aggregates can be broken down monolithically and used again as an aggregate. Making the emotional strength and charisma of materials tangible was focused on, such as untreated solid fir wood for floorings, doors and windows, smooth concrete, solid glass for the table lamp, or solid burnished brass. Due to few steps (omission of labor-intensive coatings and surface treatments) and the use of solid materials and short transports, construction became increasingly economic. In the long run, savings can be achieved due to expendability of maintenance, with surfaces being ageable. Solid materials, in the long run, achieve a lived and sustainable surface. La structure monolithique, qui \u00e9volue principalement \u00e0 la verticale tout en suivant le terrain escarp\u00e9, est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en b\u00e9ton l\u00e9ger isolant \u2013 un mat\u00e9riau qui r\u00e9pond \u00e0 toutes les exigences et brave les conditions difficiles de son emplacement expos\u00e9. La forme en tour de la maison a permis non seulement de r\u00e9duire l'empreinte au sol, mais aussi de cr\u00e9er des acc\u00e8s de plain-pied aux \u00e9tages inf\u00e9rieurs et sup\u00e9rieurs. La structure de la maison \u00e0 faible consommation d'\u00e9nergie, certifi\u00e9e KlimaHaus A Nature, provient du sol de son emplacement m\u00eame et y est fermement ancr\u00e9e. Construite en mat\u00e9riau min\u00e9ral, elle offre une durabilit\u00e9 expressive. Les murs du monolithe, d'une \u00e9paisseur de 75 cm, assurent protection et s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Des ouvertures pr\u00e9cises offrent des vues cibl\u00e9es sur le paysage de montagne environnant. Les embrasures profondes deviennent des \u00e9l\u00e9ments spatiaux \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re, dont les habitants peuvent profiter au quotidien pour s'asseoir, se reposer et observer. Au c\u0153ur de la maison, on acc\u00e8de aux diff\u00e9rents \u00e9tages par un escalier en colima\u00e7on compact. Atteignant jusqu'\u00e0 6 m\u00e8tres de hauteur, le dernier \u00e9tage forme un espace de vie et de salon ouvert, s'\u00e9tendant sous le toit largement surplomb\u00e9. Une fen\u00eatre p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique offre une vue panoramique d\u00e9gag\u00e9e. L'orientation, l'encastrement et la vue \u2013 \u00e9galement depuis la terrasse spacieuse \u2013 donnent l'impression de vivre dans un endroit pr\u00e9serv\u00e9 au milieu des montagnes. Dans les murs ext\u00e9rieurs lisses, form\u00e9s de b\u00e9ton l\u00e9ger isolant, toutes les fonctions de la fa\u00e7ade sont r\u00e9unies en une seule couche: prot\u00e9ger, isoler et porter. Les tuiles en b\u00e9ton en forme de losange pour le toit et les bardeaux en bois qui habillent les deux entr\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 fabriqu\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re traditionnelle. L'ensemble de l'enveloppe du b\u00e2timent est con\u00e7u de mani\u00e8re monochromatique. Les couleurs et les formes rappellent l'\u00e9corce des arbres que l'on trouve dans les for\u00eats voisines. Des mat\u00e9riaux naturels et solides caract\u00e9risent \u00e9galement l'image de l'int\u00e9rieur et cr\u00e9ent une atmosph\u00e8re terre-\u00e0-terre et conviviale. Les trois \u00e9tages inf\u00e9rieurs sont constitu\u00e9s de mat\u00e9riaux nobles pour cr\u00e9er un environnement neutre, lumineux et discret. L'espace du toit, en revanche, s'ouvre de mani\u00e8re particuli\u00e8rement d\u00e9finie et puissante. Du sapin non trait\u00e9 pour les planchers, les fen\u00eatres, les portes et les meubles, des surfaces en terrazzo artisanal ainsi que des enduits \u00e0 la chaux artisanaux caract\u00e9risent la sc\u00e8ne. Le laiton bronz\u00e9 assorti \u00e0 la couleur du b\u00e9ton et le verre artisanal compl\u00e8tent la palette de mat\u00e9riaux et conf\u00e8rent \u00e0 la maison la durabilit\u00e9 souhait\u00e9e. Le b\u00e2timent r\u00e9sidentiel a \u00e9t\u00e9 le premier b\u00e2timent monolithique en b\u00e9ton l\u00e9ger isolant \u00e0 recevoir la certification KlimaHaus A Nature, atteignable dans toute l'Italie, qui se base sur une \u00e9valuation strictement contr\u00f4l\u00e9e, entre autres, de l'empreinte carbone tout au long du processus de fabrication des mat\u00e9riaux, jusqu'au confort d'habitation. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l'int\u00e9gration de technologies de construction intelligentes, l'efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique globale atteint la classification encore plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e de KlimaHaus Gold. Ces certifications attestent du haut niveau actuel de la maison en termes d'\u00e9cologie, d'\u00e9conomie et de soutenabilit\u00e9.<\/p>\n","en":"<p>At the junction between Pflersch and Wipptal, a little above the center of Gossensa\u00df village (1,100m above sea level), Pedevilla Architects designed the home of a young family.<\/p>\n<p>The monolithic structure, which evolves primarily into the vertical while following the steep terrain, is made of insulating lightweight concrete \u2013 a material that responds to all requirements and braves the harsh conditions of its exposed location. The house\u2019s tower-like shape resulted not only in a small footprint but also created ground-level accesses on both the lowest and top floor.<\/p>\n<p>The structure of the low-energy house, certified KlimaHaus A Nature, originates from the soil at its very location and is firmly rooted to it. Being built of mineral material, it offers expressive durability. The monolith's 75cm thick walls provide protection and security. Precise openings allow targeted views into the surrounding mountain landscape, with deep jambs becoming spatial elements in their own right, which the residents are able to avail themselves of in everyday life for sitting, resting and observing. In the core of the house, the different floors are accesed by a compact spiral staircase. <\/p>\n<p>Reaching up to 6 meters in height, the top floor forms an open living and lounge area, extending under the widely overhanging roof. A surrounding window provides an unobstructed panoramic view. Orientation, embedding and view \u2013 also from the spacious terrace \u2013 create the impression of living in an unspoiled place amidst the mountains.<\/p>\n<p>Within the smooth exterior walls, formed of insulating lightweight concrete, all the functions of the fa\u00e7ade are merged into one single   layer: protecting, insulating, and supporting. Diamond-shaped concrete tiles for the roof and wooden shingles refining the two entrances were both manufactured traditionally. The entire building envelope is designed monochromatically. Colors and shapes are reminiscent of the tree bark found in adjacent forests. <\/p>\n<p>Natural, grounded materials also characterize the image inside and create a down-to-earth and homely atmosphere. The lower three floors are made of noble materials to create a neutral, bright and unobtrusive environment. The roof space, on the other hand, opens up in a particularly defined and powerful way. Untreated fir for floorings, windows, doors and furniture, handcrafted terrazzo surfaces as well as handcrafted lime plasters characterize the scene. Bronzed brass matched to the color of the concrete and handcrafted glass complement the material palette and give the home its desired durability.<\/p>\n<p>The residential building was the first monolithic building of insulating lightweight concrete to receive the KlimaHaus A Nature certification, achievable throughout Italy, which is based on a strictly monitored evaluation of, among other things, the carbon footprint throughout the whole manufacturing process of materials, reaching as far as for the living comfort. With the inclusion of intelligent building technology, the overall energy efficiency reaches the even higher classification KlimaHaus Gold.
