\u00e0 ses artisans et au patrimoine industriel du quartier.<br \/>\nLe bois d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie \u00e9tait le mat\u00e9riau id\u00e9al pour ce projet : l\u00e9ger, abordable, \u00e9cologique, noble, chaleureux et novateur. Il s\u2019int\u00e8gre au nouveau concept : un b\u00e2timent moderne alliant tradition et innovation, racines r\u00e9gionales et avenir. L\u2019\u00e9pinette noire conf\u00e8re aux int\u00e9rieurs une qualit\u00e9 chaleureuse, adoucissant l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re avec ses tons clairs et sa texture lisse et non vernie.<br \/>\nLa nature symbolique du bois est amplifi\u00e9e par le fait qu\u2019il est expos\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur et mis en valeur par une immense fen\u00eatre donnant sur le centre-ville de Montr\u00e9al, ses tons de bl\u00e9 se d\u00e9tachant sur la ma\u00e7onnerie rouge de la fa\u00e7ade d\u2019origine. Cette fenestration souligne aussi la pr\u00e9sence durable du b\u00e2timent d\u2019origine. Une fen\u00eatre vers l\u2019avenir surplombe une porte vers le pass\u00e9, un silence architectural entre les deux.<br \/>\nMettant en valeur l\u2019\u00e9pinette, ce projet raconte l\u2019histoire de la for\u00eat et du c\u0153ur industriel de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Nord, tout en refl\u00e9tant la nature dynamique du Montr\u00e9al d\u2019aujourd\u2019<\/p>\n","en":"<p>The recently rehabilitated John Lysaght Building was built in 1904, at a time when warehouses of all kinds and especially foundries were plentiful in the Faubourg des r\u00e9collets.<br \/>\nThe former workshop\u2019s introverted nature meticulously preserved through two fa\u00e7ades, a new mid-rise presence places wood at its very heart with an exposed structure that pays homage to Quebec\u2019s mighty timber industry, its craftsmen and the neighbourhood\u2019s industrial heritage.<br \/>\nEngineered wood was the ideal material for this project: light, cost-effective, environmentally friendly, noble, warm and highly innovative.
