Un pr\u00e9texte pour explorer les limites et les qualit\u00e9s de ces trois diff\u00e9rents mat\u00e9riaux.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Se voulant toutes d\u00e9montables et assemblables qu\u2019avec six vis et un tournevis, les chaises poss\u00e8dent un tissu d\u2019assise pouvant \u00eatre facilement chang\u00e9 et stylis\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><b>Un mot de l\u2019artiste<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c0 l\u2019image des trois petits cochons qui ont b\u00e2ti leurs demeures en paille, en bois et en briques, mon projet de la chaise Hublot explore les qualit\u00e9s distinctes de trois mat\u00e9riaux embl\u00e9matiques: l\u2019aluminium, le bois et le b\u00e9ton. Tout comme le premier cochon a rapidement opt\u00e9 pour la paille, j\u2019ai choisi l\u2019aluminium pour son caract\u00e8re l\u00e9ger et moderne, offrant une esth\u00e9tique \u00e9pur\u00e9e. Le bois, \u00e9voquant la solidit\u00e9 de la maison du deuxi\u00e8me, trouve sa place dans ma cr\u00e9ation pour apporter chaleur et \u00e9l\u00e9gance. Enfin, le b\u00e9ton, rappelant la robustesse de la maison en briques du troisi\u00e8me cochon, conf\u00e8re \u00e0 la chaise une assise solide et durable. \u00c0 travers cette d\u00e9marche, je mets en lumi\u00e8re comment les choix des mat\u00e9riaux influencent non seulement sur l\u2019apparence, mais \u00e9galement sur la fonctionnalit\u00e9 et la durabilit\u00e9 de ma chaise Hublot. Ce projet explore la valeur intrins\u00e8que de chacun de ces mat\u00e9riaux dans le contexte du design contemporain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La forme et le geste de la chaise Hublot ont \u00e9t\u00e9 grandement inspir\u00e9s par les voyages \u00e0 la mer et l\u2019architecture moderniste. Ces voiliers et cette id\u00e9e d\u2019un paysage admir\u00e9 \u00e0 travers la vue d\u2019un hublot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Que se passe-t-il lorsqu\u2019on s\u2019\u00e9loigne l\u00e9g\u00e8rement du geste pur et dur et de la rationalit\u00e9 d\u2019une chaise classique? Et si on s\u2019en \u00e9loigne davantage pour n\u2019avoir que l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019une chaise sans b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier de sa fonction? Est-ce possible de faire une chaise enti\u00e8rement fonctionnelle et \u00e0 la fois incroyablement styl\u00e9e? En d\u2019autres mots, lorsqu\u2019on stylise, doit-on absolument perdre de la fonctionnalit\u00e9? Le ready-made de Duchamp l\u2019inspire, l\u2019autorisant \u00e0 voir l\u2019environnement comme un grand mus\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n","en":"<p><b>Project description<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hublot is a chair conceived and created by the emerging artist-designer Jeremy Le Chatelier, with the intention of expressing the beauty and utility of the object by means of varying iterations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Hublot<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> project is an experimentation with different materials to produce an object so familiar in our daily lives: the chair. A single and distinct form serves as the structure, designed with a central circular opening and crafted in wood, aluminum, and concrete. It’s an opportunity to explore the limits and qualities of these three different materials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intended to be entirely assembled and disassembled with just six screws and a screwdriver, the chairs feature a fabric seat that can be easily replaced or styled differently.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><b>A word from the artist<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quite like the story of the three little pigs who built their homes with straw, wood, and bricks, my Hublot chair project explores the distinct qualities of three emblematic materials: aluminum, wood, and concrete. Just as the first pig quickly chose straw, I opted for aluminum for its lightweight, modern character, offering a sleek aesthetic. Wood, evoking the solidity of the second pig’s house, finds its place by evoking warmth and elegance. Finally, concrete, reminiscent of the sturdiness of the third pig’s brick house, gives the chair a strong and enduring presence. Through this approach, I shed light on how material choices not only impact appearance but also the functionality and durability of the Hublot chair. This project delves into the intrinsic qualities of each material within the context of contemporary design.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The shape and feel of the Hublot chair were greatly inspired by travels at sea and modernist architecture. It evokes the image of sailboats and the idea of admiring views through a porthole.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What happens when we slightly depart from the pure and rigid gesture and rationality of a classic chair? What if we move even further away from it, to have only the idea of a chair without the benefit of its function to keep it playful? Hublot lies within the spectrum of utility but deviates slightly with its rather irrational form and low seat.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><b>Hublot ~ Aluminum<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lightweight and visually minimalist, this version can be easily reproduced at low cost. The aluminum can be left raw or coloured with a baked coating. The wood can be rejuvenated with an oil treatment if required. The highly resistant thick leather seat will develop a soft patina over time. His perpetual quest for beauty in imperfection and his ability to merge abstraction, experimentation, and spontaneity make him an innovative and inspiring artist. A graduate in graphic design from the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al and artistic director at Luminaire Authentik, his creations dance between functionality and art.
