L\u2019approche par contraste retenue pour diff\u00e9rencier les deux b\u00e2timents assure un respect mutuel de gabarit et de rythme, gr\u00e2ce notamment au recours \u00e0 l\u2019arrimage des bandeaux m\u00e9talliques \u00e0 ceux de la pierre de la prison ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019insertion de curseurs m\u00e9talliques. Une grande attention a \u00e9t\u00e9 port\u00e9e au confort acoustique, au choix de mat\u00e9riaux et mobiliers \u00e0 faible \u00e9mission de COV, et plusieurs autres mesures contribuant au bien-\u00eatre des occupants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 implant\u00e9es.<\/p>\n","en":"<p>This project involved rehabilitating, renovating, and developing the Au Pied-du-Courant heritage complex, which consisted of the former 1840 Patriotes prison (classified as a heritage building) and the 1921 Commission des liqueurs warehouse. The goal of the project was twofold: add a building with a new contemporary identity and design the head offices of T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec and SODEC in activity-based work mode for 400 people.<\/p>\n<p>The warehouse envelope was completely deconstructed and replaced with a new contemporary curtain wall. The contrast approach used to distinguish the two buildings ensures mutual respect for scale and rhythm, thanks in particular to the use of metal bands aligned with the stone of the prison and the insertion of metal sliders. Overall, the project had the dual benefit of reducing energy consumption and increasing brightness in open work areas.
