gardienne de l&rsquo;environnement, \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la communaut\u00e9 et \u00e0 modifier le campus pour offrir plus de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et de possibilit\u00e9s d&rsquo;\u00e9ducation. Ce projet y parvient gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 trois approches diff\u00e9rentes : l&rsquo;\u00e9cologie, la communaut\u00e9 et l&rsquo;am\u00e9lioration du campus.<\/p>\n<p>La premi\u00e8re cat\u00e9gorie, la r\u00e9ponse \u00e9cologique, pr\u00e9serve la capacit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;\u00e9cole \u00e0 fonctionner comme un campus passif. Les caract\u00e9ristiques du b\u00e2timent existant sont conserv\u00e9es tout en ajoutant un nouveau b\u00e2timent con\u00e7u autour d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ments passifs.<\/p>\n<p>Le b\u00e2timent est volontairement \u00e9troit, avec des murs ext\u00e9rieurs sur des c\u00f4t\u00e9s oppos\u00e9s pour permettre une ventilation naturelle. La circulation ext\u00e9rieure et les ouvertures interm\u00e9diaires canalisent les brises de l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an tout en permettant \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re naturelle d&rsquo;\u00e9clairer les all\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>De grands porte-\u00e0-faux et des ouvertures profondes minimisent l&rsquo;\u00e9blouissement solaire matinal pour fonctionner avec des fen\u00eatres surdimensionn\u00e9es. Les longues fen\u00eatres permettent la surveillance n\u00e9cessaire des facult\u00e9s, mais en les pla\u00e7ant sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9 est et en les repoussant du mur, on minimise le gain solaire en profondeur.<\/p>\n<p>Le b\u00e2timent sur\u00e9lev\u00e9 permet aux espaces ext\u00e9rieurs couverts situ\u00e9s en dessous de servir de salle \u00e0 manger, de stockage et de circulation \u00e0 l&rsquo;ombre sans sacrifier l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s. Les enfants sont \u00e0 l&rsquo;abri lors des journ\u00e9es chaudes ou pluvieuses, mais ont toujours acc\u00e8s quotidiennement au climat temp\u00e9r\u00e9 de la plage.<\/p>\n<p>Un panneau solaire est install\u00e9 sur le b\u00e2timent qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re toute l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie du nouveau b\u00e2timent, et maintient le mandat de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 d&rsquo;utiliser uniquement de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie verte.
